Memory Loss ????

I have windows XP sp2, 1.2 processer, 512 mb memory, symantec anti virus
updated and run daily, ad-aware.

Recently, it seems like a memory loss or something happens. I have no
indication of when this happens. All of a sudden, at idle, I can move the
cursor around the screen and it leaves trails that I cannot remove. It even
looks like the size of the cursor increased. If I open a window, it seems the
font has changed and everything is blurry. If I drag the window, the trail of
the window stays on screen and I cannot remove it. Any ideas?

Are you using only AdAware for Malware removal ? - You really
need more in that area than just the single product. At a minimum,
you also probably need SpyBot Search & Destroy. Which firewall
do you use - Windows Firewall or a 3rd-Party solution ? It sounds
like a system loading issue that could be due to Malware/Spyware
on the machine. You should start diagnosing by checking TaskMgr
and looking at both the Performance (TAB) PF Meter and on the
processes (TAB) tally up all processes (Click Show processes from
all Users). Post back the PF Meter count & the number of processes.

Have you updated your motherboard Chipset drivers lately ? Also
are your Video drivers updated ?

What firewall are you using? Have you checked for spyware?

Spyware causes many problems. If not installed download Adaware and / or
update Reference file
from http://www.lavasoftusa.com/support/download/ and use it to remove

Also the Microsoft Anti Spyware Beta is considerably better than it was
at first:

Hope this helps.

I will d/l spybot

For a firewall I have a router and I am using Norton Internet Security

I am not near that computer so I cannot post the PF Meter and processes but
I will check tonight

Have not updated the motherboard or the video drivers, will try that also.

Thanks
