memory issues

ive got a kt6delta mobo w/ winxp pro and a nividia fx5200
256 mb graphics card.had 512 cl2.5 pc2700 and tried to put
512 cl3 pc3200 in and i keep getting device and gaphics
device driver errors.i put the pc2700 back in no errors.im
running 3dmark03 to test system.it crashes on the first
test w/ pc3200 cl3 and runs fine w/ pc2700cl2.5.ive got
the newest bios on my mobo and the newest drivers from
nividia.ive also tried several other navidia drivers.??????
im abotu out of ideas .my mobo supports the memory i
have.its kingston value ram and was suggested by msi web
site.i dont know why memory would cause graphic driver
errors??????????????????????????????????????

Look on the motherboard for Front Side Bus jumpers. Sometimes you have to change it when you put in faster RAM or new processor.

On newer borads, there usually aren't jumpers. Here is a simple
suggestion. First, check your BIOS settings and make sure you aren't
attempting to run the memory at C2.5 still. Second, you may have a bad
memory chip. You can run a good diagnostic testing program on the
memory by booting off a floppy or CD. Check out www.memtest86.com

The video card will have issues if the memory has issues as it
eventually pulls data from the memory. It may appear that it is the
video card since it happens during tests involving graphics, but the
truth is that it could be a host of things including, but not limited
to, the processor, system memory, hard drive, IDE Controller, poor power
supply, and many other things.
