Memo field being cut off at 255 characters

I have read a lot of posts on the subject, and followed all of the
recommendations but none of them seem to be adding up for me. I have
a report based on a SELECT query, I am not using the group by, and the
memo field is NOT truncated in the query results, only when I view the
report.

Both the Can Grow options for the details section and the text field
are set to yes and the Format box associated with the text field is
blank.

What else can I check?

Are you grouping or sorting on that field in the report?

I am neither sorting nor grouping any field in the entire query, nor
is that option even selected.

are you viewing the Access Report directly with Access?? I've seen this
when a report has been moved to other formats such as pdf or the data is
being viewed via a frontend designed with VB

I didn't ask about doing so in the query. Are you doing do IN THE REPORT?

I am trying to view the report within Access and trying to print it,
same in both places. I am grouping in the report, yes.
