Hi
Are there any issues in installing more memory?
I recently installed a 512 mb chip next to my 250 mb chip.
Bios recogniszed it ok, but WINXP Pro slowed down considerably.
(this is the 3rd time I try to post this question; my previous mails got
deleted... why?).
Can one of The Experts enlighten us on this issue ?--
Pieter

Is it the same brand same speed Ram such as PC 21, 27, 3200. If it's
slower then it will cause the already installed Ram to match the speed. Some
brands don't get along well together. Try a different slot if you have one.
Or swap them around.

XP is very fussy about exact matching of characteristics of RAM modules,
and yours may just not be well enough matched; so a lot of retries are
happening in critical internal loops. Try the 512 on its own; you might
be better to compromise on that

Also some motherboards are fussy about which slots are used with modules
of differing sizes
