Meetings vanishing (visual only) very specific problem

Ok have a very specific , odd problem. Here is the configuration: Outlook
2003 (with all updates applied to date) rest of office package: XP.
Connecting (cached or non-cached mode makes no difference to the problem) to
an Exchange 2003 server, LAN 100mb.
User logs in and also opens another user's mailbox upon entering. Email
works just fine. When going over into the calendar view, she can check the
other users calendar and everything looks just fine, reguardless of how many
other shared calendars she has open (they share plenty of calendars) Now if
she goes back to email (or any other section: Journal, contacts
etc...anything) THEN when she goes back into calendar all the blocked
appointments on ALL calendars are not there. She can even add a new
appointment and it will not be visible, however they are indeed saved onto
that calendar on the server with no issues. The only visible appointments are
in the all day section at the very top. They do not go invisible.
There are 2 ways discovered to make this problem go away. One is to simply
restart Outlook...problem goes away until above actions are repeated. The
other is to uncheck the "open other users" calendar, go to another section
and then come back. At that point the appointments are back on all calendars
are visible again. Even the other users folder one if rechecked.
So bottom line simplified problem is : with the calendar of the "Open Other
Users Mailbox" checked to be shown in the calendar, you cannot switch to
another outlook section without making all the appointments (excpet the all
day ones) disappearing. (visibly only) As long as that is NOT checked, you
can switch back and forth all day long. Please note that you can also get
around this by running another instance of Outlook and just leaving it on the
calendar and making sure you never switch views.

Steps I have taken to try and get rid of this problem:
1. deleted the permissions of the shared calendar for the other users
mailbox and redone thim.
2. delted the profile of the user that is having the disappearing problem.
3. uninstalled and reinstalled Outlook 2003 and then redid all updates.
4. setup permissions to another user (me) and opened the other users mailbox
with my profile and tried to break it. (never once happened to me) NOTE this
was on MY machine, not hers
5. setup profile of the problemed user on my machine and did all the steps.
again did not break.
none of these things worked. I did not setup a profile on her machine as me
and try the permissions to myself (going to go try it though)
Anyway, anyone else ever seen anything like this one? It's a mystery to all
of us here.
Is there a program or even a listing of reg entries etc.. to make sure
Outlook is TOTALLY pulled out.
The user is picky and has even said she did not care if we took her machine,
backed it up and and totally reimaged her machine to fix this problem. I of
course am trying to not have to go that far...just would like to find out
what is doing this.
One step that has been suggested is to try and blow away those accounts on
the exchange server and then dump the mails back in. I personally don't think
that would have an effect, but maybe someone out there knows something I
don't on that.
In short...any ideas? Anyone? Bueller?

FYI, we finally figured it out. To end up fixing this we had to backup the
person's stuff, blast her exchange mailbox and then remake it.
Works fine now.
