Meeting Request

We're using Exchange 2000 with Outlook 2000/2003 clients. We created
accounts for all our meeting rooms and share it to whoever needs access to it.

My question is this:
One person books a meeting room at a specific date/time. Is it possible to
restict another person from booking the same room/date/time?

thanks.

If you set up conference rooms as mailbox Calendar folders, as described at http://www.slipstick.com/calendar/scheduleall.htm, you should have seen the option in Tools | Options for allowing/disallowing conflicting appointments. The other part of the equation is that users must schedule the conference rooms as resources, not required or optional attendees.

What we did was that we created a regular mailbox (exp. boardroom) and then
give permissions for the Calendar folder to individuals that need to book the
room.

I do not see the "allowing/disallowing conflicting appointments" option you
spoke about.

Are you referring to "Automatically decline conflicting meeting requests" &
"Automatically decline recurring meeting requests"?

thanks

Yes, "Automatically decline conflicting meeting requests" is it. I don't have the dialogs memorized and wasn't at an Outlook machine.

Are users taking care to invite the room as a resource? That setting won't apply unless they do.
