Meeting Location

In outlook 2007, when you go to schedule a meeting there is a field for
'Location.' How do I add one? I want to be able to schedule meetings in our
conference room and then when its in use, noone else can schedule there.

You type the location in... but that isn't really what you want to do. You
need to invite the room as a resource so its blocked off. Is a mailbox
configured for the room? If not, speak to your exchange admin.

Do you mean that there needs to be an account set up as the location, meaning
its like inviting a 'person' named conference room so that whenever that
'person' is in a meeting you can't schedule another one?

Correct. That is how company resources are done.

(If it’s a meeting room at the local holiday inn, you type in the field,
since you won't want or need a mailbox for it. )

Thanks for your help so far. I can get that done. In any case though,
doesn't that seem a little... 'jerry-rigged?'

Not really. You need some method to automatically mark off the conference
room - and this does it all. It can automatically accept (and decline)
invites and publishes free/busy so you can easily check availability.
