Media Player -- want to change to slow speed

I am trying to transcribe a CD from a speaker's talk.
Normal speed is too fast, although I am a very fast
typist.

When I try everything I know of, the speed will not
change out of normal to slow.

Help?

WMP will let you do this using the Play Speed Settings if you first copy the
CD to disk.
