Media Player is stuck

My media player (version 9 and/or 10) is stuck on the same song. Regardless
of what music I double click on, it plays only the same music and,
furthermore, deletes the song I had chosen from my library. I've installed
the service pack 2 and the problem remained. (I use WIndows XP)
Can anybody help?

Open WMP10, check the bottom righthand corner for a small square with an
up and down arrow in it. Hover mouse cursor over it and it should state
turn repeat off.

Thanks a lot for your prompt help. However, it didn't work. My WMP was not
set to "repeat." I've tried different sets, the problem remained the same
except for when I access the songs through Windows Explorer (I select the
folder were the songs are, then "select all" songs, and command "play") Then
I get it to play properly.
Thanks for your help anyway.
