media player and VOB format files

I copied a file from a DVD CD to a shared folder. When I tried to pay it
using my windows media player 11.0 it gave me the following msg "a
compatible DVD decoder is not installed" although my windows XP is up to
date. Any idea? I am trying to integrate this video into my Power Point
presentation. Please advice

Use VLC Media Player instead.
