Hi
Media player 11 won't play .avi files, well it does - sound only
I get the message - acquiring codec, then codec acquired and although
it starts playing, I get sound only with no picture,
Would anyone know where the problem lies please?

Probably still not the correct codec.
Try with a third party player and/or use one of the many codec identifier
applications to figure out what codec the file in question needs.

Hello Shenan Stanley

I downloaded Gspot and it reported that I needed XviD ISO MPEG-4
So I got it and Media player is working correctly now

The problem is that you didn't keep WMP 10 and, like a fool, risked
everything thinking that WMP 11 is cool. It isn't, as you've seen.
