media player 10 problems

Have windows XP home with SP2. Trying to upgrade media player from 9.0 to
10.0. Have downloaded setup file from Microsoft site, but when trying to
install continue to receive message saying that software has not passed
windows logo testing. Receive 4 or 5 of these messages during install, and
in end program has not been updated. Does anyone have any suggestions? Need
the media 10 player to run another program. Thanks.
