Media Centre video freeze

Hi,

Almost everytime I watch a video in Media Centre, after a while the video
will freeze while the audio continues. Media Centre stops responding and I
have to ctr+alt+del and terminate ehshell.exe. The process seems to use alot
of mem (above 90 meg). This doesn't happen when watching live tv.

Also, when navigating media centre menus with the remote, the screen often
flashes and the start bar appears, then about a second later media centre
re-maximises itself. really annoying....

I have also noticed that when listening to mp3's in media player, it hogs
50-60% of the cpu while system takes the rest, giving me close to 100% cpu
usage and a noisy fan.

iTunes will use about 3% of the cpu for the same task...
