Media Centre Problems

I bought a XP Media Centre notebook in January with free Vista upgrade. But
the shop forgot to tell me that the upgrade was time limited. I have now
started to work in a location that needs me to join a domain. (This is such a
basic feature that I did not think to ask in the shop if this feature would
be available.) But for some reason MS has disabled this feature in Media
Centre. How can I get out of this hole?

So what is the cheapest route out of this pain so I end up with the ability
to join an AD domain?

Thanks in advance……..

There is no cheap way. You would need to purchase an upgrade version of
either XP Pro or Vista Ultimate (since MCE apparently can't upgrade to
Vista Business - see link below). Personally, I'd just upgrade to XP Pro
since it will be cheaper and you'll have less problems joining your work
domain at this time.
