Media Center Crashes on TV, Guide -- SP2?

We haven't used Media Center in a while, then upgraded to SP2. Now when we
try to update the guide or view TV, we get an error from Media Center

"Cannot Load Files (across the top of a message dialog box)
Some of the files needed to play radio or video are missing or corrupt. Try
Restarting the computer. Go to Help for additional troubleshooting
information."

When I try to get guide data, I get a dialog that Media Center has
encountered an error and needs to close....

Spent 2 hours with Dell help to no avail. Should I uninstall SP2 or is
there something out there I haven't found?

Thanks in advance....

I feel your pain - same experience here. I'm digging around the net but have
yet to find a good solution. I'll let you know if I do. Please let me know
if you find anything yourself. TIA

I did a system restore (removing SP2) and that makes the Media Center work --
but problems with IE (closing unexpextedly on sites that spawn new windows)
have returned...ugh.

Why did you do a system restore instead of properly removing SP2 through
Add/Remove Programs in the Control Panel?
