media card reader vanished!

My media card reader icon/letter has vanished from my computer, Well infact 2
of the letters or whatever they are (soory not good at this computer jargon)
have vanished.
When I put the card into my computer and then click on my computer it isn't
there any more.
It may be since I had the broadband fitted. I last used it when I had dial
up.
Can anyone help please?

Have you rebooted the PC? That's the first thing to try. Doing so may
redetect the drives.

Yes I have rebooted a few times but no luck. Thanks for your reply.
