ME Upgrade to XP Home

After putting off buying a copy of XP, I gave in. I
purchased a copy. I came home and attempted to install it.
Push came to shove and I ended up reformatting 3 times,
loading 98 twice, and pulling every chip, card and/or
drive in varying combinations. Nothing works. I get an
evil 'Blue Screen' with errors like:
0x0000050 (0xF9FFE14, 0x00000000, 0x80892773, 0x00000000)

I have gotten close to 10 different messages along these
lines. I have treid to upgrade from 98, from ME, and from
scratch. The store won't take the program back. I need
help.

FDISK and FORMAT your drive with a Win 98 startup diskette.. set the
computer BIOS to boot from cd.. boot from the XP cd.. at some point, you
will be asked for proof of ownership of Win 98.. just follow the onscreen
instructions..
