Me again

Hi
With much help from this group(see forever arsenal posts) I got rid of the
W32.blast worm.
from sister in-laws computer, run the Symantec removal tool twice (took 1hr
each time)
and all ok,installed Microsoft patch.

One thing seems to have gone after doing the above ,when you close down IE
the
disconnect panel no longer appears, unlike Win 95 clicking the online icons
in the taskbar does not
bring up disconnect panel.
Any ideas to get the disconnect panel in xp back.
Thanks.

Hi,

Check your settings here:
IE/Tools/Internet Options/Connections/Settings/Advanced/
Disconnect when...

When you quit Internet Explorer, you may not be prompted to disconnect even
if the Disconnect when connection may no longer be needed option is enabled.

The following registry value also verifies that the option is enabled: Go to
Start/Run/Regedit and navigate to this key:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\RemoteAccess\Profile\"Connection
Name"\EnableExitDisconnect. The value should be 01 00 00 00.

And if it's not ,edit//change it,WHO me,the registry,you mad or what
:))))) .....

Forgot to say it's IE 6.

After removing the worm, installed Nortons anti-virus,then had to go online
to update
virus definitions, then could not get off internet, had to go in control
panel/dun/then somehow
can't remember now, created a icon on desktop which double clicked gave
disconnect option,
it worked so she might have to live with it :-( or get a techie in.

Many thanks again.

: Hi Barry,
:
: Sounds like Q256302 to me. Try their recommendation of editing the
correct
: registry entry and see if that helps you out.
