Hello,

I have questions on MDE format
1. MDE version should it be created by the same version?
2. If MDE has been created, is there still any way for people to crack the
password?
2. Is there anyway for people to return it back to MDB format?

Thanks for any enlightment provided

Yes. Only way it can be done I believe.
2. If MDE has been created, is there still any way for people to
crack the password?

Yes. How easily depends on their determination and/or willingness to spend
a few dollars. Access Password cracking utilities have been available for
years.
2. Is there anyway for people to return it back to MDB format?

Yes. There have (fairly recently) been utilities made available that will
do this.

"Real" security will never be found in a file-based database.

Hi Rick. What utilities are these? Are you saying they can recreate the
VBA?

Thanks.

Keith.

That is what I am reading lately yes. It is not exactly the original
source, but it is close enough to destroy any semblance of "security" that
you thought an MDE was providing.

Not really. I routinely work in A2003 in an A2000 format MDB. When I
go to create the MDE I run A2000.
2. Is there anyway for people to return it back to MDB format?

Yes, one person has the capability of doing so.
