I'm sure I posted this question before but I can't find it; sorry for posting
twice. How do I create an mde file in 2007?
 
In 2007 you create an ACCDE instead of an mde file. Goto the tab Database
Tools and at the end you will find the option Make ACCDE.

You can make an MDE file from an MDB file in 20007. You can't do it if it
is in 2000 format, but if it is in 2002-2003 format you can just go to the
Database Tools tab on the Ribbon, while you have the database open, and
select MAKE MDE from the Database Tools Group.
