MDAC NEW PATCH PROBLEMS

Sajith

hi,

We have two servers..one for Devt and another one for
production. both configuration is exactly same.
used "ADMINISTRATOR RIGHT ACCOUNT" to install. Installed
using Terminal Connection to both servers.

1. The current version in devt server MDAC 2.6. So we
updated with MDAC 2.7. After that applied MDAC 2.7 SP1
ReFresh. The New Patch applied after this...worked. No
problem after that.

2. So we continued same step on Production Server.
Version was 2.6. So updated with 2.7 and then MDAC 2.7
SP1 Refresh. But Now when we tried to install the
new "PATCH" for MDAC...i got a error message saying "You
already have a higher version". So I am forced to stop
the installation. But my production data was found to be
working. This happend last week.

3. Today backup operators - when tried to do the monthly
tape back up - logged into windows(they have given all
backup operator rights). They are getting a series of
error as listed down....

"An error occurred calling "DllRegisterServer"
in "C:\Program Files\Common
Files\system\ADO\msado15.dll".

An error occurred calling "DllRegisterServer"
in "C:\Program Files\Common
Files\system\ADO\msador15.dll".

ETC...............a lot of message....after this, they
are getting a blank screen.

What can be done in this situation. I hope i have
explained the situation very clear.

Thanks in advance for any help regarding this.

Regards
Sajith, Singapore
