2.7 service pack 1 refresh is the full mdac package with updated components.

Why not install 2.8 since you're upgrading?

Interesting problem I have. One one PC in the office (XP Pro... laptop)... it
has v2.52 on it. So I tried an update to v2.6... then v2.6 sp1... then 2.8.
Each one didn't seem to work. Every time I tried my application it still came
up with the error that v2.52 was not good enough and that I need v2.6 or
greater.

I even tried a reboot... logged on as a local admin... still nothing.

Hmmmm....

Now I know even less than you, but wouldnt one have to recompile the
application with the corresponding header files from the SDK with 2.8?

I mean, if it was compiled to use 2.5, its going to try and load 2.5
isnt it?

Or does it use backwards compatibility?

Jace,

Thanks for your reply! Most of my machines have 2.7 and untill I have
to and when a 2.8 service pack is released, I'm just going to deal
with 2.7.

Thanks!
