Mcrosoft Updates deleting my HP Director

Whenever I update my computer with the Microsoft Updates
it deletes my Hewlit Packard Psc 950 Director. I then
have to spend hours reinserting the disk and going
through all the installation procedures. I contacted Dell
and HP they told me the problem lies with the Microsoft
Updates and that I should contact Microsoft. Please
advise.
