MCE 2005 with Vista upgrade ticket

Hello

I have bought MCE 2005 which included a free upgrade ticket to Windows
Vista Home Premium.

As I build my own PCs I have only bought the software, not a preinstalled
MCE machine.

Question:
Does this then discualify me from the free upgrade ?

Hi Eivinda,

There has been a significant change in the way upgrades work. It can only be
initialized from within a qualifying, activated OS that has passed WGA. The
upgrade disk cannot be used to do a clean install by simply inserting a
qualifying media disk as proof during setup. You will first need to install
MCE 2005 before using the upgrade on the intended machine.

You still qualify for the upgrade, just follow the instructions on the
upgrade form.

Ok, thanks

I've tried to email them by following the upgrade web instructions but
I've gotten no reply yet.

Will try again then, after Jan 30th

You should follow the instructions on the redemption form and go online to
order your upgrade now to get a confirmation number. The confirmation number
will need to be placed on the upgrade form and mailed along with your
receipt for MCE to the supplied address to be validated, once validated you
should receive your order between 4 or 6 weeks after January 30.
