I'm not sure what number I called, but did talk to what purported to
be a real person. However, I found the wait times much shorter, and
the advice equally helpful, when I stepped out into the back yard and
explained my problem to a brick wall.

Post there you may get faster help.

there is a chat line but I havent had much luck there as they seem to handle
3 clients at once and forget what you have said.

I have had 1 in 7 calls actually answered satisfactorily.
Admittedly these calls were wrt issues The mcafeehelp forums could not
answer.
