mbr goback hidden partition

Hello, A friend bought a new Dell. Dell changed the MBR in order to use the
hidden partitions (2) to reinstall to factory condition.
He recently recieved the unit has no problems but would like to install
GoBack and create a Acronis True Image file.
Are these two actions possible, given that MBR has been changed by Dell?
Have done some research in Dell groups but could not find reliable answers.
Have sent e-mails to Acronis and Symantec, no replies at this time.
Thank You.
Take Care.

There was an earlier thread about using GoBack on an HP. Someone
answered that GoBack is incompatible with a non-standard MBR. I'm
afraid you will have to wait for the Symantec answer or call Dell. You
can still make an image with Acronis, though. That doesn't have
anything to do with GoBack.

I do believe that there is a typical and a custom install for GoBack.
Use the custom install and install it on C drive, not D drive or
wherever the HP backup is located.
Symantec bought GoBack and so did not develop it - incidentally.

The issue isn't where to install it. It's whether it can be installed with
a mbr that's modified by HP to accomodate their recovery partition.

I understand the issue. Let me say this: I have installed GoBack on
several HP computers with recovery partitions in the past using the
custom install option. I am assuming that the HP configuration has not
changed in the past year. Try it (custom install), y'all have nothing
to lose except a few minutes.- hth-
