You are correct that your post is difficult to follow. However, my best
guess is that you have XP Pro and you were using the built-in
Administrator account for your daily work (not recommended). After you
created another user account with administrative privileges, the
built-in Administrator account was hidden from the Welcome Screen. This
is by design. The following information will show you how to log into
the built-in Administrator account and how to copy those user settings
to your new account. You will need to have a third user account with
administrative privileges from which to work so create this first.

At the Welcome Screen, do Ctrl-Alt-Del twice to get the classic Windows
logon box. Type in "Administrator" and whatever password you assigned
when you set up Windows. If you did not assign a password, then the
default is blank.

If this is not what you did, then please do post back with more
information. You can organize your thoughts by using bulleted or
numbered points. Here is a link that will help you:

this makes me sooo much happier to know that all my files werent erased.
Everything you said worked except when I went to copy the files onto me new
account, about half way through it tells me that "desktop cannot be accessed"
Do you know how I can change that???

Did you do that?

Also, in the article Malke cited:it says:

Copy Files to the New User Profile
1. Log on as a user other than the user whose profile you
are copying files to or from.

Yes I did make a third account with administrator privilages. And logged
onto that one when I was trying to do it. I tried it several times...
