Since Seagate acquired Maxtor in December, 2005, from what date can you
consider a Maxtor Hard Drive as made by Seagate?

When it says "Made by Seagate" on top of it?
Any more smart questions?

Define "as made by Seagate".

I'm assuming you are asking when Maxtor drives will use Seagate internals.
I would say it might be some time.
I would cost Seagate money to change current assembly lines at Maxtor
factories.
and Maxtor may have had some long term parts contracts with suppliers before
the buyout
I would guess Seagate internals would be used when Maxtor releases new
models.

Maxtor is now the low budged brand of Seagate. Maybe they send a few of their
engineers over to iron out a few bugs in their current range.
Current Low budget Seagate drives though may re-appear under the Maxtor label.

I would assume Seagate will want to put their 160GB platters in all the
Maxtor hard drives.

And lose money on them, why?

Btw, any reason why you can't setup your newsclient properly?
