Maximun number of rows and columns

I would like to know if the maximum number of rows and columns has increased
in Excel since version 2002 which has 65536 rows and 256 columns.

information from microsoft for excel 2007 (there was no change form office
2002 to 2003)
The total number of available columns in Excel
Old Limit: 256 (2^8)
New Limit: 16k (2^14)

The total number of available rows in Excel
Old Limit: 64k (2^16)
New Limit: 1M (2^20)
