Does anyone know what the maximum string length is for the storage path when
I'm nominating a location for my PST backup? Also, are there any syntax
rules (other than the usual ones, e.g. no periods in folder names)

I haven't tested it, but it is always wise to keep your storage path shorter
than 255 characters no matter what you are using.
If you go beyond that, you should specifically test it. In certain cases,
mapped network drives are also resolved to a UNC patch which would add
additional character to your storage path.

There is no additional limit in the characters that you may use.

Thanks for your reply Roady. I suspected it was 255 but just wanted to confirm.
