I notice when I open up a new window in Internet Explorer, sometimes the
window is maximized, sometimes not. How do I control this??

Thanks in advance.

Hi there,

1. Open a link.
2. Don't use the maximize button.
3. Stretch the corners so that the window fills the screen.
4. Close all other IE windows.
5. Close the stretched window last.

However, the above procedure is not equivalent to SHOWMAXIMIZED API call.
Try "IE New Window maximizer" utility, download from:
http://www.majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=1746
(Uses Windows API calls and automatically maximizes every browser window you
open)

The trick is not to maximize any window, just stretch them to the same
size as maximized.

Try stretching the small window to full size. (Do not use Maximize)
Ensure that window is the last one closed and IE should remember the
size next time.

OK....

Now, when I open an IE window, it is maximized, but also in FULL SCREEN (as
if I had hit F11). I do not want this.....can I stop this?
