Wondering whether it's possible to match an excel data file to another
to find what data lines (content is names & addresses) are the same i
both files.
Is this possible in excel

Yes it's possible but you need to be much more specific as
to exactly what you wnat to do. Where is the data located?
What do want to do with the data?

Yes using software written by KeepITcool.
Jurgen where are you???

If you have Access, which is part of MS Office Pro, and you know ar
familiar with Access, exporting your Excel data to Access would be a
easier way to do this. You would put one set of your data in on
Access table, and the other set in another table, then let Acces
compare the two. That's the gist of it, without going into furthe
detail. Transferring data back and forth between Excel and Access i
easy to do

Many many folks do not have Access as the price differential between Office Pro
and Office is substantial.
There are several ways that the OP can do this just in Excel.
