I want to buy a dual channel memory motherboard. What's the difference
between

2 times Corsair DDR 512 MB 400Mhz PC3200 HSP
1 time Corsair TwinX Matched DDR 2x512MB PC3200 HSP Low Latency

What's "matched" exactly? It clearly is something else than "identical"...

There is variability between same-labelled RAM sticks by the same vendor,
due to production imperfections. MATCHED RAM sticks are tested to ensure
that they are indeed IDENTICAL. You pay more for the testing.
