Master Volume in XP Media

I'm having trouble with the "Master Volume" control just coming on screen. This is seperate from the volume control for the computer, controlled through the keyboard or on screen. The only way to get it off is to restart the computer and hope it goes away. My anti virus is new and up to date with no virus' found. Does anyone have an idea how to get rid of this as it is really annoying.

Yes, I am having the same problem: Master Volume appears at the bottom of the screen with a row of green squares at the screeen bottom and I can not figure out how to remove. Any idea as to how to solve this problem?
