I have Win XP profesional, running (RAID) setup hard drives, when machine is
booting, message on screen (invalid boot.ini file) after it goes into blue
screen to check disk; message (corrupt master file table) can not run disk
check. after booting none of icons on desktop and no excess to start tool
bar. I need to use ctrl-alt-del to bring up windows task manager to do
anything on the machine. I tried recovery console-bootcfg /list; bootcfg/
rebuild nothing works. Can some one help or do I have to reload windows?

Thanks

Make sure you have a backup of important data. If not slave the drive in
another XP or Win2000 computer and copy the important data.

Then download a drive diagnostic utility from the drive manufacturer's web
site. This will create a bootable floppy or CD. Run the diagnostics from
there.
