master/child links missing in 97 to 2K conversion

after converting Access97 to 2000, the forms/subforms do not point to the
correct records after performing a filter. The form has to be closed, then
the pointers are correct. I have researched that the master/child links need
to be configured correctly but, when viewing the properties of the form or
subform, there are no master/child link properties. What is the fix for
this??? Thanks in advance, Jim.

To find the LinkMasterFields property:
1. Open the main form in design view.
2. Right-click the edge of the subform control and choose Properties.
3. Look on the Data tab of the Properties box.

If you are applying a Filter to the main form, as well as a Filter to the
subform (as well as any LinkMasterFields/LinkChild fields), Access gets
