Margins - Even when I set to "0" I get white space at the edges

I set the margins "0" but I am still getting 0.17 of white space on either
side of the page. I am trying to have a colored border on the top and bottom
go to the edge but the white space is not going away.

Thanks for your help,
Taylor

True but I should be able to PDF without margins.
Just what are you trying to do in Excel? Most printers, not just laser,
won't print the entire width of a page. And just why do you need a PDF
with borders to the edge of the paper anyway?

If you are insistent on getting such a printout, have a pair of scissors
handy and trim off the blank parts... <g>

I am having this exact problem - and it is driving me nuts.

Bill - my workflow is this:
1) Make formatted table in excel
2) Save table as pdf (using print selection)
3) Place table into InDesign (creating a document for printing)

I need to not have white spaces because they make it difficult for me to format the rest of my document correctly. If the excel table is suppose to come in at say 7.75 in but there is uneven whitespace on either side in the placed file then it causes problems.

Even when I look at the document in Acrobat Pro and use the crop tool there are still whitespaces.

I do think it's a function of the virtual printer but it is a problem.
