MapPoint and Windows XP not compatiable

Deborah

I used to have Windows ME on my computer and I could use
my MapPoint 2002. Then I made the mistake of changing to
Windows XP (bought the CD that cost me $200+). Every since
then I have not been able to use the MapPoint. The last
time I contacted Microsoft they said that they did not have
a patch(forgot termology that they used) for it yet. I was
just wondering if there is an update that will allow me to
used my MapPoint, Printer and computer work fine?
When I would install the MapPoint computer would freeze
and it would make my printer quit working. Don't want to
go through all that of having to work to get my printer
working again. I would use my MapPoint several times a
month if I had it. It saves me time and gas to use it.
Please help someone. I can not afford to buy another
MapPoint or anything else at this time because I am
retired(early) and my husband has not worked in 9 months.

Deborah,

I am running MapPoint 2002 on many computers with Windows XP operating system. And works just fine.
If your problem is printer related, please install a new (Windows XP) driver. Most likely the printer manufacturer has the driver available as a download.

Hope this helps.

When I installed the Windows XP. I had to redo my printer,
buy a new CD upgrade and my Norton AntiVirus, that I had
just bought, would not work so I turned around and bought
McAfee AntiVirus.
My printer should have the latest driver on it but
mapPoint still will not work. I think the first CD will
install it but the 2nd CD that is supposed to run it will
not work. That is an idea, I will check with my printer
manufacturer and see if they can help me get it working.
Thank you very much for your reply. Have a very blessed
day.
(Right now I am dealing with trying to get IE to allow me
to sign onto my hotmail accounts and allow windows update.
I have to do this post with my computer is Safe Mode
because I can't post in regular mode. (crazy computer)

Well my hard drive crashed so I had to replace it. Then I
had to reinstall windows, could not find my product key
code so I borrowed a Windows 2000 professional and
installed it. I still could not get MapPoint to work.
Finally resorted to calling Canon. Through working with
them I went to Add printer and put a printer that I did
not have on system and made it the default printer. Now I
am able to run MapPoint. When I want to print it I have to
go to File and "Save As" and save it as web page or
wordpad doc and print from there.
Thank you all for your help.
