Copying a MapPoint 2006 Graph to Powerpoint

Hartster

This should probably be in a Mappoint Newsgroup but I can't find any
usegroups for MapPoint.

I have several graphs created in MapPoint that I want to copy to Powerpoint
so I can produce a slide show. According to the MapPoint software sales
gimmick it says "easily copy maps from MapPoint to Powerpoint with MapPoint
2006." For the life of me I can't figure out to do this. There is nothing on
MapPoint that says save as and if I just copy and paste, PowerPoint can't
recognize the map.

Any suggestions?

There is a newsgroup for Mappoint, (address in a newsreader:
microsoft.public.mappoint), but as your question is for both programs, it's
also OK to post it here. There is a very active Mappoint forum on the MP2K
magazine website: www.mapforums.com.

It is possible to insert the map as a bitmap graphic in PowerPoint. In
Mappoint click on Edit - Copy Map, in PowerPoint use Insert - Paste or Paste
special to insert it.

I'm using PowerPoint 2007 and MapPoint 2006. I've saved a MapPoint map
(map.ptm). When I try to insert this in PowerPoint 2007, I get a pretty
generic error message "An error occurred while importing this file.". I don't
see a way to save the MapPoint map in any format other than .ptm, either. Any
hints? Thanks!
