mapping drives with policy

R

Rob Bergstrom

I am putting a new 2003 server in production and want to use a policy if
possible to remap all network drives from the clients to the new servername.
Is this possible?
I am implementing roaming profiles also but do not want them in the same
place as their "My Documents" folders so I don't have to backup profiles.
Is there a way to simply redirect everyones mapped drives from one server
share to another at next login?
(Everyone's My Documents folder is actually on a network share)

Thanks,
Rob

Hi,

The answer is Yes. You can use Folder Redirection to redirect My
Documents to a share on the server. It is located in
User-Config-windows Settings-Folder Redirection - My Documents (right
click for options)

I have described it to another user here
http://www.windowsforumz.com/-Changing-location-redirected-Documents-ftopict246988.html

You shouldn’t have to login to read, just to reply.

Cheers,

Lara
