Hi

I know how to map a network drive with in my network.
Is there a way to map to my home network drive when i am outside my
home network and on the inter net

Not safely nor easily. You would need either a static ip address or some
type of service that tracks your dynamic IP address, you would need to open
the appropriate ports on your firewall to allow file and print sharing. If
using a router you would also need to forward those ports from your router
to your PC. All this assumes an always-on internet connection of course.

Depending on what needs you are trying to meet, other services such as
internet based file storage. A gmail account with over 2 GB of storage
might also be useful. If you are looking for more access to your home PC,
services such as http://www.logmein.com might meet your needs.

If you use VPN, sure....although you shouldn't expect great performance.
If you have XP Pro on the 'host' computer/in the office, you can use Remote
Desktop (with or without VPN to get you there) and that might be better.

The best way to do what you described is via VPN or using WebDav.

Do a search on 'Windows XP WebDav'.
