Mapping a network drive

I have a server running windows 2000 and 10 clients
running the same. Each computer relies on the server to
administer test that students take. Today the server went
belly up and I reinstalled WIN 2000. All 10 computers are
networked and running off the server just fine. The
problem is, is I cannot get the server to cough up a
shared folder so I can map it to the 10 clients. I have
the folder shared on the server and as I logon as a
student the shared folder will not show. I click on
tools, map network drive, select my drive letter, and when
I select the work group, all 10 computers, plus the server
are displayed, but when I click on the plus sign for the
server nothing shows. What have I forgotten to
configure. Thank you for your help.

I have faced similar problems sharing a printer with win2k
clients. When i click the plus sign printer wont show or
would take TOO LONG to search and show. What i have done
is, manually given clients a path to the sahre and
everything is working fine now since past 8 months now.
you can specify path in the following way.
\\Servername\D\Share name
