Mapped network drive not opening

I am trying to map a network drive on a new installation of Windows XP SP2.
The drive will map, but when I try to connect to it through Windows Explorer
it give me an Open With... dialog box. I can choose explorer.exe by browsing
but the Always Use option is grayed out and cannot be selected.

How can I make a mapped network drive always connect using explorer.exe?

None of those helped. I do not have any problems setting up a network, it
is just the error that I described above when Mapping a Network Drive.

That's because you DID NOT READ them. I only posted them 2 minutes ago.

Twenty minutes, which is plenty of time to read them. I did not find any
relevant material as to why a Mapped Drive suddenly stops working. I am
using the same method of creating Mapped Drives that I did last week on
another computer and it worked. Now it asks which program to use when
opening a mapped network drive. If one of those tutorials deals with this
issue please point out which and where, because I could not find anything
that even came close.

I have mapped a network drive like this before and it works. Also I have
had a previously working mapped drive give me this error as well.

Why does it now ask for a program to use?

I had the same issue on a machine running XP Pro and a friend found
solution, maybe it will work for you. In the registry editor I did
search for a key called MountPoints2. Under that key are liste
mapped resources, and a subkey to the one in question there was
_Autoplay and a Shell key. After deleting both keys and saving th
registry, it worked as normal
