Mapped drives problem

When I try and open a networked mapped drive I keep getting the Open With...
dialog box which is asking which program I want to open the network drive
with. I can get around this problem by right clicking the mapped drive
shortcut and clicking explore.

This is happening an a number of machines, can anyone advise?

Hi Michael,
I experienced a similar kind of problem recently. Any UNC path (starting
with "\\") used to bring the 'Open With' dialog.
I worked around that by setting 'open' as the default action. Go to
Tools->Folder Options in Windows explorer, go to 'File Types' tab and select
the 'Folder' entry with extension as NONE. Click 'Advanced' and in the
Actions pane, select the 'open' action and click 'Set Default' button. Hit
'OK' on all opened windows.

This process throws up a minor issue as a side-effect. Windows Explorer
always uses Open as the default action. So if the Folders tree is open and
you double click a directory, a new window appears.

Hope this helps..

Thanks for your reply, unfortunately this did'nt work as its a drive and not
a folder that I'm working with.
