Hi guys,

I uninstalled office 2007 beta and now outlook 2003 gives me this error:

"Cannot start Microsoft Office Outlook.
MAPI32.DLL is corrupt or the wrong version. This could be caused by
installing other messaging software. Please reinstall Outlook."

I tried Fixmapi and re-installing office 2003 with no luck. All other office
products work fine.

Thanks.

I am also having this problem, but I have not uninstalled 2007. If
there is a fix that doesnt involve creating a new user account as the
MSKB article suggests when you cross this problem with Outlook 2000,
could someone please post it?

I would not expect Fixmapi to work after you've installed a newer version.
Did you rename all mapi32.dll files on your drive, then run Detect and
Repair?

1. Start your computer in safe mode
2. Delete the contents of the "C:\Program Files\Common
Files\System\MSMAPI\1033" folder
3. Reboot into normal mode and start Outlook, setup will replace the files
with the correct version and Outlok will load as normal.

Thanks also - that worked for me as well.

Why does MS Outlook 2007 seem to have so many problems?

It is beta software. You shouldn't expect a problem-free ride when you
use beta software.

He asked a question and I gave him a matter of fact answer. A rather
nice one actually.
