MAPI problem, going from Eudora to Outlook

B

Berkshire

Moving from Eudora (which I tried for just a brief time) back to Outlook.
Outlook functions fine within the program, but I can't do some of the
functions outside that I used to be able to, i.e. send attachments from
Excel and Word.

I get an error message saying..."Where's Eudora?" Cannot find a running
instance of Eudora. Cannot complete MAPI action. Please start Eudora, then
try MAPI action again"

I have uninstalled Eudora from my machine, I have gone to IE & made Outlook
my default program. Not sure what else to try

Thanks,
Nick

find fixmapi.exe and run it. If that fails, repair office to restore
original settings.

Diane,

I found 'fixmapi.exe', but I can't seem to get it to run. Did the 'detect
and repair', but that hasn't solved the issue. In fact, I am now getting
another error message..."ordinal 197 could not be located in dynamic link
library MAPI32.dll"

It appears that my computer is looking for Eudora, but I'm not sure why. Or
where I can go to delete all remaining references.

Thanks for your help.
Nick
