Map Colouring

My question is that I have a map of the UK and all 408 local authority district (LAD) boundaries which I want to fill(colour) in a type of slide show format and in ascending or descending order of the list of LADs. I have seen this before so I know its possible. The thing is that it would be stupid to have 408 slides and I dont know how to show each LAD being coloured individualy, to be able to show some patterns
Anyone help?
 
Are you trying to animate the series of images? What version of PowerPoint
are you using?
