After a while, manually changed register-setting repair automaticly,
back to the standard settings. How come?? Is there a possibility to
disable this?? Thanks in advance.

Unfortunately this isn't the solution :( Please let me explain it with a
more detailed example.

When I change the following key:

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\ShellNoRoam\MUICache]
"C:\\Program Files\\Internet Explorer\\iexplore.exe"="Internet Explorer"

into:

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\ShellNoRoam\MUICache]
"C:\\Program Files\\Internet Explorer\\iexplore.exe"="Microsoft Internet
Explorer"

it will appear in the "open with contextlist" as 'Microsoft Internet
Explorer' for an indefinite time. Then all of a sudden it gets back to
the standard 'Internet Explorer'-notation.

This happens to all of the changes made in all of the Software\Microsoft
\Windows\ShellNoRoam\MUICache keys...

Any idea why this happens?? Thanks in advance.

You need to re-read your instructions to find the key that overrides the
one you are changing. I'll bet you are changing Shell Folders instead of
User Shell Folders.

Hi,

See if this helps:

Delete these two keys, reboot then re-set your options.

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\ShellNoRoam\BagMRU
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\ShellNoRoam\Bags

To have it saved longer, either modify your settings to match what is listed
in this edit or run it:

Increase Folder View Options Limit: (Line 2)

To use the Regedit: Save the REG File to your hard disk. Double click it
and answer yes to the import prompt. REG files can be viewed in Notepad by
right clicking on the file and selecting Edit.
