manual archive does not work properly

my manual archiving is not working. Any email which shows a modified date of
'none' is not archived but just left in the folder - how do I get around this?

By manually moving the mail to the Archive Folder (The archive pst will have
to be opened within OL)

Thanks - you are right - the only way seems to be to highlight, drag and drop
the items to the archive pst folder. I have noticed however that doing this
creates a modified date for the items once moved to the archive folder and
this is an old date - not today when i have moved them - strange!

If the Modified Date is "None", then Outlook should use the most recent of
the Received and Created dates.

Thanks Brian, but it doesn't - the email does not get archived - it just
stays where it was. The only way to archive seems to be to drag and drop the
items manually into the archive pst folder that has been created - thereafter
i have noticed that the 'none' modified date becomes a date equal or close to
the received date of the original email. I am trying to archive stuff which
is nearly two years old so I have little chance of understanding how this new
modified date is determined.
