Mandrake, the world's most popular Linux distro, with over 1.7 million users worldwide, has released version 9.0 (codenamed Dolphin) of it's distribution. This is by no means a small upgrade. New features include:

-KDE 3.0.3
-Kernel 2.4.19
-XFree86 4.2.1
-Gnome 2.0.1
-OpenOffice 1.0.1
-Mozilla 1.1
-GCC 3.2
-CUPS 1.1.15
-Revamped Control Center and Package Manager

On top of all that, the distro has be certified by the Linux Standard Base, one of the first to achieve such certification. In my opinion, it doesn't get any easier than Mandrake, as far as Linux goes. It's even easier to install than Windows. If you haven't tried Linux before, this is a great place to start, and I reccomend you download it.

Mandrake is known to be a cutting-edge distro, but it seems like every release is more and more bugfree, thanks to the volunteers who report thousands of bugs during the beta and release candidate cycle. This looks to be the best Mandrake distro yet, and should help persuade people to switch from Windows.
